LOCAL SONGWRITER RECOGNIZED BY INTERNATIONAL CONTEST
Vancouver, WA native Laura McGreevey recently received the honor of being named Winner by the Song of the Year ( http://www.songoftheyear.com/ ) songwriting contest. Song of the Year is an international songwriting contest supporting VH-1’s Save the Music Foundation. The Song of the Year judges are some of the biggest names in music including many Grammy Award winners.
Song of the Year is excited to recognize Laura McGreevey for her exceptional songwriting ability for the song ‘Hold Me”. Laura competed against songwriters from all over the world for this honor. When asked what inspired the song Laura commented that this song was written for a close friend who was going through a time of loneliness and doubt, and needed comfort from what life had brought her.
Currently Laura is concentrating on her music career while hoping to elevate her profile in the industry on a national level as a songwriter and performer. “I’m blessed to have a great band that brings a unique pop sound to the market. We hope that this award will provide us with some recognition in markets that haven’t heard us yet.”
